50^th Anniversary Anecdotes

The Southern ‘100’ Road Races celebrate their 50^th Anniversary in 2005; - July 11^th – 14^th inclusive are the exact dates.

Not only will there be the usual race programme catering for Solos, Formula 2 Sidecars and Classic machines – it is anticipated that there will be many special events during “Southern ‘100’ week” all based in and around Castletown.

To celebrate fifty years of ‘the friendly races’, as the Southern ‘100’ has become known to all over the years, the club are publishing a book on its history.

If you have or know of anybody who has any amusing, strange or unforgettable experiences from Billown, since 1955, we would like to hear from them for possible inclusion in the hardback book.

We are also looking for action, stills and unusual photographs that have been taken over the years to further enhance the book.

If you or someone you know can contribute to the book, the club would be most grateful and full acknowledgements will be given.

Any photographs sent to the club will be scanned and returned via recorded delivery.
